berries

I am exhausted.  The kids and I headed up to Flattop for berry picking.  There were tons of crow berries, but a good amount of blue berries too.  I was surprised how much they enjoyed finding (and eating) the berries.
After a nice meadow for picking, they decided we needed to climb up and atop of blueberry hill.  It was a steep climb and they both did it splendidly.

They packed their own backpacks-
Kincaid: A rope for snaring an animal and a piece of fabric to put over the animal's head
Duke: 2 pretend knives, one dragon fly and a water gun.

(I fear for my future...)

It was a really pretty day, though not too hot thankfully!
 Hard at work.
I thought this looked like a scene from Sound of Music.
Their best friend and his little sister climbing up on the fence.  They roped us into going to McDonalds Playland.  That was more strenuous than the hike up the hill - terrible, horrible place (but the kids LOVED it).

It looked like the best "playland" was outside. What a wonderful day.
