Do you have meals that just take you right back "home"? Dutch Babies are one of those meals for me. I made them this weekend - Saturday and Sunday. They are so easy and they use my newly purchased (from Walmart!) cast iron skillet. Here is what you do (per my mother):
Set oven to 425
Melt 2 tbls of butter in a skillet that can go into the oven
Put about 2 thinly sliced (and peeled) apples into the skillet with some cinnamon
Let them get cooked and then add the batter
-3 Eggs
-1/2 C milk
-1/2 C flour
-bit of salt
Stick it into the oven for about 15 minutes, but check it every now and then as it gets all puffed up and is so amusing.
Then you have to "dress" your Dutch Baby (the husband kept calling them Dutch Boys much to my amusement).
-Squirt a bit of lemon juice, put on some powdered sugar and some berries!
You now have quite the tasty treat that looks so pretty and is so wonderful to eat!!!

Ooooh! I have a bunch of apples that the kids say are too tart to eat in hand. I bet they would be good in this!
Yummy!!! I can remember your Mom making them - they just make the whole day a better place to be. Packed and heading to the Island in the Morning! xxo
