Yesterday was fantastic and I took so many pictures. We first stopped by Akaka Falls which was gorgeous - I love waterfalls. On the way out, we stopped by Mr. Ed's Bakery for tons of cookies and I had the most fantastic guava turnover. We headed out to Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden and that was so beautiful. Jackie called me when I was at a spot down by the water, so pretty and nice to talk with her! We then set off for the town of Hilo on the other side of the island where the older sister went to a scrapbook store and we ate at Pestos (a fantastic organic salad for me!). We then went to the volcano, but a lot of the roads were closed as it is active. I saw a huge crater, smoking vents and a lava tube. On the way back, we stopped by the Black Sand Beach which is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen (and I have seen a lot). HUGE waves crashing EVERYWHERE and it just took my breath away (again, I took tons of pictures). We then headed home after driving around the edge of the entire island that day! It might be rainy today, but I am sure to have something to mention tomorrow!
