I did it. I bought some paint. The only reason I got Ralph Lauren was that it was the closest color to "Sand in your toes" that Home Depot had (we had a gift card to use). This is called Barn Owl White - those owl's must not be very white as it more of a tan color. I really hope it doesn't look like flesh. I have a warm oatmeal pictured in my head that will be set off nicely by some hints of blue. Is there hope? I primed the room last night and boy are my pants worse for the wear. I am a messy painter for sure! I wore a mask and kept the windows open to prevent the babe from huffing paint at such a young age.
I was glad to see that one of the colorants was yellow and not pink or red. I think this will help me avoid any fleshiness. I will let you know the verdict Monday as I hope to get it painted by then.
Today, I have a meeting for work and then will spend some time with a friend who just learned how to knit and wants to make baby hats. I know she is serious as she bought "Itty Bitty Baby Hats" - the best baby hat book out there! Have a great weekend!

Looks like a nice straw color . . . not fleshy at all. Good luck painting the town (or at least Huck's room).

And you have a good week end, too. I think you will like the color - then you can jazz it up with any color blue you like!!. tga
Looks good! I look forward to the update. :)
Good for you for taking care of the babe while you paint. Everything I've read indicates that acrylic paint fumes pose no danger, though. I painted quite a bit while I was pregnant with my youngest. We had just moved into our first house.
Was it a respirator or a mask?
