Our tree is indeed a Rainer Cherry Tree and the husband munched quite happily on it yesterday. He said the dogs enjoyed a few as well (pre-pitted though). I will start harvesting them so the birds don't get them all, though they are welcome to those at the top of the tree and out of my reach.

I wanted to keep the old gate and arbor and now it is resting along side the shop. I am thinking about making it into a bench or perhaps a little potting shed. It is just too cute for me to get rid of right now.

While placing the arbor, a friend noticed another fruit tree! We are pretty sure this is an apple tree in the early stages. We cut one open and it smelled just like an apple (apparently it tastes like a really tart apple as well). They look like little limes though!

It continues to be in the 90s here and I am living in the world of AC. I love the evenings and mornings with the cool air - I open all the windows and let the fans blow the air inside. I do need to find a way to keep it cooler upstairs though. How can you change the fact that hot air rises? Anyone?
