As we were having no babies yesterday, mom and I made a pie (mostly mom). She pitted 6 cups of cherries and we made a pie crust that was so simple (no roll pie crust recipe link). Yes, the cherries are from my tree that I had frozen. Yes, they were quite chilly when mom was pitting them. We used a pre-bought crust for the top that we cut and criss-crossed to make it look quite pretty. It was so tasty with some double churned (1/2 the calories!) vanilla bean ice cream! The pictures are pre and post cooking - it was quite full and overflowed the pan onto the counter. If you need some cherries for your own pie, just come on over - they are in the freezer outside.

Hmmmmmmm . . . Here's hoping there is some left when I arrive! I have my suitcase packed and can either grab a flight (hopefully) or hop in the car when Huck decides to make an appearance. I just need some double pointed needles because I always screw up the double magic loop when picking up the gusset stitches.

Yummy!!! Glad the ice cream was 1/2 the calories as I am sure the pie wasn't. The picture made my mouth water - tga

That pie looked great! If Huck showed he could taste it first hand (I would give him a taste anyway!),,, dad
