On Huck's 1/2 birthday, we gave him a wonderful present. A day cross country skiing at Mt. Spokane. It was a fabulous day, but a bit foggy as it has been most of this winter. I took Huck and the husband took a backpack with lunch, extra clothes and some essentials for Huck. He rode quite nicely upon my back with a lot of sleeping, some looking around, lots of being oohed and ahhed over by other skiers and only a little fussing in the last 5 minutes of the journey. The trails were marked like downhill trails with green easy runs and black difficult trails. It seems like the difficult trails were difficult due to the up hills and down hills. I think we went about 10 kilometers and it was fabulous!

Lia,

What a lucky guy to get a skiing half birthday! I'm sure he was great entertainment for other skiers, too. I'm also proud that you have the fortitude to ski for hours with a babe on your back.

What a beautiful picture of mother and child - looks like a perfect celebration. What a lucky little guy to go on such an adventure!! That hat is the bomb - it sure is coming in handy. And it is so manly! tga

Starting him so early is always a good idea . . . given his parents I'm sure he will be an outdoor man.

You look great and energized in the pic with a fine knitted ear band.
