Another fun activity this weekend was a free boat demo day put on by REI. I really just wanted to see if Huck would tolerate a life jacket and being in a kayak. He didn't seem bothered by the jacket and really looked very much like Chris Farley. It was so funny. We waited for a big and open touring kayak with 2 sling seats. I held Huck in the front and my mom was in the back. She did all the paddling as it was hard to hold Huck in the boat while paddling. If I had some sort of a strap that held him close to me it would have been fine. I think we lasted about 5 minutes and he got a bit antsy - either to jump into the lake or run around in the boat. It was quite fun and the people said he was the youngest paddler! What a brave little boy! (we also saw a family of ducks with little baby ducks!)

Do di do . . . what fond memories I have of us paddling around Cheney Lake with Lani shouting "my boat's unrowing!" (deflating). Glad Huck can now join in.
