We have the most beautiful tree up in our living room right now! We all headed out on the shortest day of the year to gather some trees for Christmas. Some of us put on cross country skis, other just in boots and a few on snow machines. It was warm, but down on the frozen river it was windy and quite cold! The river (the little susitna) was mostly frozen and I thought that if the snow machines could go without breaking through, I should be all right. My older sister took Huck and my father walked with Duke so I could ski. We grabbed just about the first tree we saw and as usual, it grew on the way back to the house and then grew again on the way home! It was great fun to say the least.

Quite a time was had. I think that day for Huck complete with a man garage, a friendly cat, a rowdy puppy,many people feeding him, getting a Christmas tree, and then putting the lights on would compare to the best day of my life at the jelly belly factory.
