Happy New Year!  We bundled the kids up and a 1/2 hour later we were headed downtown for the "Fire and Ice" family New year celebration.  I think it was about 6 degrees, so the bundling took a while!  There were fire dancers, hula dancers and a Volcano (to celebrate Hawaii's 50th anniversary).  We got there 15 minutes before the fireworks and found a lovely spot on a small hill.  It was a wonderful display and lasted a long time - there were right up over our heads and the moon was right there too.  My dad and mom traded off Huck carrying duties, while I carried Duke in my coat and nursed him most of the time.  He was so cozy tucked down inside, though I would like a better way to carry him as the sling isn't the best inside the coat.  I will work on that for my millions...  I am pre-blogging now at 9:15 and we are all still up - not much hope for making it until midnight without sleeping, but I guess I will be then for a nursing call anyways.  Heck, at least I will have 2 little men to kiss!

I like this picture of dad and huck as it looks as if dad has been partying it up already!  That one of Duke and dad was when we got back -  Duke was just wide eyed, smiling and cooing.  So wonderful.

You made it! Huck's mood must have improved since 5:30. Could he see the fireworks and did he like them?
