Wonderful Weekend!

First of all, it was my mom's birthday on Saturday. Happy Birthday to her! It made for a whirlwind of a weekend with a party and wonderful dinner at my aunt's house (crab and rum cake were included), breakfast with friends, ice fishing and swimming. Whew!

Dad had to do some shoveling of the berm behind the hot tub after looking out the window to this the other morning.

Here is the start of our ice fishing expedition. It was about 30 degrees, but about 20 mph winds.

Duke was a serious fisherman.

Kincaid was an excited fisherman.

Duke's pole caught the first fish, which was quickly taken by Kincaid. He loved that fish - an arctic char.

They gave us a plastic bag, but coats and mittens were already covered with fish slime.

They had a great time.

We left with two fish.

This is where it got a bit emotional. Kincaid just wanted to keep the fish and hold him every now and then. He was "quite unhappy" (his words) when Bop had to clean them and cut off their heads (that was the worst). We talked about real fisherman, that fish are food and that if you catch them they have to be cleaned.  He now will be a catch and release fisherman!
