It was raining, but we just put on our rain gear and headed out to Westchester Lagoon. There is a great playground, but the kids didn't even touch it for the most part. They headed right to the stinky, bug ridden, muddy swamp.
There was a little structure someone had made. Kincaid sat in it for a while to "wait out the storm" and wait until his fish trap caught something.
Duke fished for pond scum for quite some time. He would get some on his stick and then fling it onto the bank. He never got anyone, thankfully.
This was the only time they went to the playground. I climbed up the spider web and they both tried to get me.
About 5 seconds later, they were done with the playground and we went to the lagoon and then back to the swamp. We played there in the rain for nearly 2 hours. It was great. I had sprayed waterproofing on my totally unwaterproof coat and it was great. I could see (and feel) places I didn't get with the spray and need to hit again.
I also got to see the flowers by the lagoon. I don't know if you can tell from the picture but it is a little fisherman with a salmon. The last few years have looked a bit like ink blots or something totally unrecognizable. This is great, but it is blurry as I might have been driving at the time it was taken...
