Indian to Girdwood

Nam and I biked from Indian to Girdwood on Saturday.  It was a rather gloomy, overcast day that seemed like it would rain, but didn't.  It was actually really perfect weather for a bike ride.  We pulled into the parking lot and about five cars followed us in and the lot was full.  Whew!

It is one of the most beautiful bike rides I have ever taken in my life.  I was just so happy the entire time looking at the inlet, up at the mountains near us and those across the water.  Just amazing.  You pass waterfalls, old avalanches and about a million little rest stops.  One had an avalanche gun that said it used to be an anti-aircraft gun.  Wonderful recycling!
We rode the 13.3 miles to Girdwood and had a light lunch before biking the 13.3 back.  Mom and I both agreed it felt easier on the way back for some reason.  If you are in Alaska and want to ride this, give me a call or if you visit I will ride it with you then!

I still can't get over the beauty in AK! Love looking at your pics. The boys are getting so big and we hope to get there some day to see you. We might never want to leave though!
