windstorm


 The weekend was spent cleaning up from the windstorm.  The boys helped out Bop for a bit.
 Here is Duke saying goodbye to the big birch.  Such a nice tree.  So many times it was base for hide and seek or capture the flag.
 Then, the guys came to chop her down.  They did a really good job too. 
 We all gathered around to watch the show. 
 Then, we helped out in getting a park ready for an all accessible playground next summer. 

 They boys thought the picture looked good, especially the part over the water (just blue ground cover).
 They were such good helpers.
 Here is the aftermath of the tree choppage.  So sad.
Here is just a minute fraction of the wood pile.  Tons of cottonwood and a big bunch of Birch too.  We are set.

Great pictures! It was quite the storm. Todays Anchorage Daily News says some still out of electricity! These pictures are the best - thanks for sharing!

Woah! I know where to head this winter when the power it out.... you guys have enough wood for a longggg time!! Really interesting stuff with taking down the large tree...
