On Sunday, 2 uncles and 2 cousins start off on the irondog snowmachine race in Alaska. They are so pumped up and have their machines all ready. If you want to see true Alaskans at heart, go see the start for sure. They race day and night, have to weld machines back together, cook food on special cookers hooked to their engines, suffer through the entire race and then use the entire next year telling the amazing stories and planning for the next year.

Here is a snippet from the website:

The purpose of the Tesoro Iron Dog is to provide reliable, consistent, safe and honorable cross-country snowmobile racing and recreational riding in Alaska. This is a team race, consisting of two (2) persons and two (2) snowmobiles (track driven and ski steered).

Here is the link to the site where you can track their progress (Trail class team 52)!!

--> On the knitting front, I started another pair of flip top mittens. I needed a project as the husband has been wanting me to watch the Good Shephard and I gave in and needed something to help keep my attention. I also came across this pattern and might give it a go - just a little hat with a brim and button band.

Talked to both your Mom and Dad - they along with Darlene brought a good hearty breakfast to Dons cabin before the race. They were all so excited - I have been tracking them but no new info yet this am.
