My older sister jokingly asked if my father could make a yarn swift. They only ones I had seen had workings similar to how an umbrella opens and I thought it would be terribly difficult for a woodworker to produce. Nonetheless, after some internet searching we found a method to the madness. Isn't it beautiful? It is so much simpler and beautiful than any other yarn swift I have seen!

I also forced myself to go on the walk with my father yesterday. I really wanted to sit and be a slug, perhaps eat a brownie with ice cream (they are so darn good and have frosting). It was a beautiful crisp excursion (34 degrees) and boy did Huck get bundled up for the trip! I need to get him some better mittens as these have no thumbs and he really likes to hold things. He seemed to stay warm and enjoy himself!

I hope you have a good weekend loyal blog readers!!

Darn! I'm sorry that I missed the walk and all that cuteness!

I had to google yarn swift - so started the day out being educated. Saw many and none nearly as nice much less beautiful as the one Ron made. It sure looks like Huck is dressed for winter time in Alaska. When we were young and the first snow hit we put on socks as we couldn't find mittens and slid down the cellar door. tga

I have a swift similar to that. I love it.

Oh, if I'd waited until I lost my sense of humor on kids 2 through 4, I would have had those babies on the living room floor! lol. I can only hope your labor will be so easy.
