weekend, Lost Lake

Some friends and I headed down to Seward to do the Lost Lake Run that supports Cystic Fibrosis.  This was the lake on the night we camped.  So pretty!
Here is our crew before the 16 mile trail race!
It was just magical in the woods.  The first part is nearly all uphill and it was nice to walk and look around at the scenery.
After we hiked up and up and up, it opened up and was gorgeous!  We also go to eat tons of berries along the way!  There was even a wonderful Park Ranger who gave me a handful!
The lake was gorgeous along the top, flat part.
It was all downhill from here, about 6 miles!  Boy did my toes hurt at the end.
On our way home, we stopped to see belugas.  You can just see a white oval in the picture.  Much better in person.

Thank you for running for cystic fibrosis cure. My son-in-law (Leslie Foleys) husband passed away from it many years ago and she raised their 2 daughters by herself. They run the race every year. Thanks again
